Notan Inspired Designs Fall 2020
Notan is a Japanese design concept which literally translates into "light dark harmony. It is the play of dark shapes and light shapes. In the Notan designs my students made they are using reflectional symmetry (and a few used rotational symmetry) to create their designs. They used Google Drawing to create, copy, flip (about a line of symmetry), and translate (slide) to create their designs/drawings. In the Christmas designs inspired by the concept of Notan, the students did not limit themselves to black and white.
